There is so much to unpack here that I’ll need to read this again. On the surface, it’s a dystopian tale going back into the how and why of Earth’s destruction of civilizations. But there is the question of immoral scientific study that masquerades as progress. There is the persistence of racism. There is a touch of religious biases. The list goes on. Or one can read it as a woman discovering her true self and her strengths and letting loose her rage at loss and injustice. And in the end, an old couple, Sarah and Abraham?, reinvent the whole of it, writing a Bible of sorts, a poor interpretation based on misunderstanding but received as The Word.
