This book is fantastic for many reasons:1) It is short and to the point--I finished this book in about a half hour. It's only about 50 pages. The chapters are a couple pages each. Kevin doesn't fill the chapters with unnecessary information and he definitely doesn't ramble on about a particular topic. He makes his point and moves on. Basically, there's no way that you'll pick it up and not finish it, like some other 300+ page books on the game.2) There are no mechanics involved--Kevin doesn't try to preach one way of hitting. He acknowledges that this is impossible. Everyone is unique. Instead he talks about approach. What is your mind doing when you are in the box and even when you're not in the box. Something that is, more often than not, neglected in today's game. He makes you actually stop and think as a hitter/coach as to what you are/have been doing and why you are doing it.3) He presents ideas and thought processes in ways that aren't usually taught--i.e. two-strike approach and actually finding pitches that you can hit well. Stuff that made me, someone who's been involved in this game for 25+ years, question my own teaching practices. If you are a player, coach, parent, or anyone who just wants to understand more about what goes into the hitting process, do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of this book. You won't be disappointed.
