Purchased this as a used item in excellent condition form Amazon and it was exactly that. Beautiful fixture with no visible imperfections or damage. Installation was not hard at all for me, an experienced DIYer. Used it above a sink in a small bathroom and I installed it with the shades facing downward (can be installed either way depending on your personal taste). It throws good light and looks very nice. Only issue is that the metal is somewhat thinner than I might have expected, but since you don't touch it or see it up close after installation, this is just a minor quibble. I would purchase this again, and have in fact already done so for another bathroom.
