Its an intriguing story with non linear narration and excellent screen play that captures teenage vulnerabilities and how some adults might abuse them, not only sexually but emotionally.A novelist cryptically takes bit & pieces of life details of a teenage girl to create a beautiful character in his novel. He allures her by showing interest in her writing, she is talented at. He also takes sexual favors from her to both pleasure himself and get first hand subject matter for the novel. The girl feels violated, used and abandoned. The rest of story is about how she makes him own up to it and how she gets over it and moves on with her life. Most writers like me can relate to this movie, because some of our novels are subconsciously inspired by real life characters. But in this movie the novelist crosses the line. One more aspect that stands out in this book for me is how movie maker doesn't fully villainize the bad guy. Even though he abuses her for his own professional gain, he still portrays her very beautifully in his novel. Also he genuinely acknowledges her talent.I guess movie maker is trying to say, most people are not all evil and all good. They are in between.
